Official start of BMBF Project LaserSKI

With dida as project lead Leibniz Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, eagleyard Photonics, Coherent DILAS and Innolume have started the research project LaserSKI on April 1st 2020, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The goal of the undertaking is to develop a machine learning algorithm for detecting defects at different stages of laser diodes production. Also, a defect classification reference frame will be worked out and made available to the entire Photonics industry.

The overall project volume is almost EUR 2m. Among more than 400 submitted proposals LaserSKI is one of 21 successful projects, that were selected in the call for proposals "Artificial Intelligence methods applied". dida is looking forward to an exciting project in a high-tech industry with established companies and research institutes as partners!
