Lorenz Richter presents at the Fields Institute in Canada
On Monday, July 8th, 2024, Lorenz Richter, CTO of dida, gave a talk at the Fourth Symposium on Machine Learning and Dynamical Systems, hosted by the Fields Institute in Canada, a leading center for mathematical research.
His presentation explored generative modeling through the lens of measure transport, describing it as a dynamical system that evolves from an initial distribution to a target measure. Lorenz highlighted how this process, guided by differential equations like ordinary differential equations (ODEs) or stochastic differential equations (SDEs), connects to partial differential equations (PDEs) and demonstrated practical computational approaches. He discussed Backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs), which tie into optimal control, and PINNs, which simplify training by avoiding trajectory simulation.
We thank the Fields Institute for hosting this inspiring event and to the audience for their thoughtful questions and interest.
