LLM4Anamnese project meeting in Frankfurt

At the end of April, our Machine Learning Scientists Fabian Dechent, Dr. Marty Oelschläger and Dr. Liel Glaser traveled to Frankfurt (Main) where the LLM4Anamnese team met to discuss the progress on the joint research efforts to utilize Large Language Models to improve the analysis of unstructured medical texts.
LLM4Anamnese is part of the "Interactive Technologies for Health and Quality of Life" research program, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with a budget of €1.02 million. Over 36 months, the project explores the application of LLMs for classifying anamneses and linking them with standardized medical terminologies, while ensuring data privacy.
The project meeting was held at the Universitätsmedizin Frankfurt and included stakeholders from involved organizations, such as AWS and VDI VDE IT. AWS has committed to supporting the project with cloud credits, ensuring a reliable and secure cloud infrastructure.
In our discussion with the IMI (Innovative Medicines Initiative), we learned a lot about the use of LLM4Anamnese in practice, including how LLM4Anamnese can enable automated medical documentation processes such as discharge letters and thus offer considerable process optimization.
We would like to thank all participants for this engaging interim meeting and are looking forward to the progress that we'll be making in the next months.
