AI in Earth Observation at DLR Bonn

On February 27th, an expert discussion on artificial intelligence in earth observation took place at Deutsches Luft- und Raumfahrtzentrum (DLR) in Bonn. From the private sector, companies such as Eftas, GAF AG and Live-EO participated. dida was represented by its managing director, Philipp Jackmuth. Together with representatives from science and the public sector, the participants discussed which conditions can be created to facilitate the use of AI procedures in earth observation. The participants agreed that in addition to a user-friendly data infrastructure, the provision of annotated training data would also be advantageous. Furthermore, successful applications of AI procedures should be made available to other market participants through showcases and an increased exchange of knowledge.
