Reinforcement Learning Talk at KIT

News

Last week, our Managing Director and CTO, Dr. Lorenz Richter, had the opportunity to meet with one of Germany’s leading reinforcement learning groups, the Autonomous Learning Robots Lab at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), and present his latest ICML paper "Reinforcement Learning with Random Time Horizons”.

The ALR Lab, led by Professor Dr. Gerhard Neumann, aims to develop novel machine learning methods for robotics, which are suitable for complex robot domains such as grasping and manipulation or dynamic motor tasks.

In his presentation, Lorenz shared his approach of transferring concepts from stochastic optimal control to reinforcement learning - two seemingly separated research domains, with interesting parallels - followed by a technical discussion with the group’s researchers.

We would like to say thank you for the invitation and the possibility to discuss our latest research with experts from KIT!
